Don’t Think For A Moment That You Meant Nothing: A Poem

The Z-Axis

Don’t think for a moment that you meant nothing
You were as the sun that lifts the fog.
You were as a breath of wind that moves a dune of sorrow
And carries it to the seas.

Don’t think for a moment that you meant nothing
You were a raindrop against the veined leaf
Magnifying the magic of life.
You were the hollow bones that give the bird flight.

Don’t think for a moment that you meant nothing
You were a drop of blood on my tongue
Metallic, dank, comforting
Reminding me I live to breathe and bleed.

Don’t think for a moment that you meant nothing
You were as the golden hour of dawn
You were as a moment of pure truth
That fades, while memory lingers on.
